Christmas Message
…From Amy Rees
As we approach the festive season, I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to you all for everything you have done during 2021. It has undoubtedly been an eventful and sometimes challenging year as we continued to work against the backdrop of the pandemic and its ebbs and flows but there have also been many positives including, of course, our unification as a new Probation Service in June. Each and every one of you has made a valuable contribution towards unifying our organisation and to building the new Probation Service we have today. In doing so, you have played a key role in shaping probation history and you should be rightly proud of this as I am of you.
Through your hard work, dedication and commitment to victims and people on probation, you have ensured our core services have continued to be delivered throughout the year to protect the public, support vulnerable people and change lives and I am grateful to you all.
It does unfortunately continue to be a time of worry and uncertainty about COVID as we approach Christmas and I encourage you to reach out and speak to a colleague or your line manager if you do have any concerns. Please do follow the government advice as it applies to where you live to keep yourself safe.
I know that I am asking you once again to go above and beyond in service of the communities to which we all belong. And what are communities if they are not made up of brilliant, dedicated people like you, who continue to serve not for reward or recognition, but because you believe in second chances.
Thank you all and hope you manage to have some well-deserved rest over the festive period.
Amy
