Fancy a fresh start in Kent or Surrey with help covering relocation costs?

The Probation Service is looking for 10 Probation Officers to relocate to East or West Kent, or Surrey Probation Delivery Units commencing work in January 2023. 

You’ll be doing the same job, but just in a different location and will be supporting an area in real need of more Probation Practitioners.  It will be a great opportunity to work in a different setting, make new connections and expand your network, as well as get to know another part of the UK. 

Costs covered by the scheme* 

This relocation opportunity includes the following financial assistance* to help cover the cost of relocating: 

  • Up to £589 towards rental / mortgage costs per month in your 1st 12 months after relocation and up to £295 per month in your 2nd 12 months after relocation.  
  • Up to £3000 for fixtures and fittings such as white goods and soft furnishings. Must be receipted and claimed within 3 months of move as a one-off claim. 
  • Up to £3000 for costs, including rental set fees/ deposits /estate agent fees / solicitor fees. Must be receipted and claimed within 3 months of move as a one-off claim.  

To qualify 

  • Must be working as a fully qualified Probation Officer  
  • Have completed your probation period  
  • Working at a PDU operating at green status on the Prioritisation Framework 
  • Living more than 75mins from the PDU you are intending to relocate to
