People Survey: Spotlight on Greater Manchester

The Greater Manchester region are working on Learning & Development and Leadership & Change as our People Survey priority areas.

Learning opportunities

Our Greater Manchester Talent Management Programme is in its second year and is expanding to meet the changing demands and needs of the region.

We have commissioned bespoke training to support all our managers in delivering our change leadership agenda. We will also be offering ‘Leading Inclusive Teams’ training to help managers focus on merging cultures and to ensure diversity and inclusion are at the heart of our change journey.

Over the coming months, we will be offering a range of blended delivery training opportunities over a range of topics including Diversity & Inclusion, Wellbeing, Leadership and Managing Change to name just a few.

We are acutely aware of the continual demands of operational training needs and want to ensure everyone can benefit from developmental training to enhance their career. The HR team are working with senior managers to support them to include training time in weekly schedules.

Visible leadership

Chris Edwards, our Regional Probation Director and his leadership team recognise the importance of being visible. Chris is currently visiting each of our offices to speak to colleagues, pick up ideas and listen to staff concerns.

Senior leaders are working closely with our Engagement and Wellbeing Champions network, and the Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to gather views and opinions from across the region to ensure we have continual feedback to shape our approach as we move forward.
