Applying for a mid-month pay advance
We are offering mid-month pay advances to CRC, Parent organisation and supply chain staff who are transferring to Probation Service in June 2021, if as a result of the transfer, this means your pay date will change (i.e. you not are paid on the last working day of the month).
This is to support you with any potential financial pressure that may occur due to the change in pay date and allow you to re-arrange dates for outgoing finances.
How the mid-month advance will be calculated
The mid-month pay advance dates are as follows. If you wish to apply for an advance and you are eligible for one then you can select the percentage of your pay that you would like to receive in advance.
Dates and payment options
- Friday 16th July 2021 – 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%
- Friday 13th August 2021 – 25%, 50% or 75%
- Friday 17th September – 25% or 50%
The advance payment, if requested, will be issued on dates listed above. The remainder of your pay (where applicable) will be paid on the standard NPS pay date, which is the last working day of the month.
If you receive an advance payment mid-month, your payslip at the end of the month will show your full salary and the advance payment will show as a minus figure.
How to apply for a mid-month advance
All of the eligible current employers have received this information along with a form and guidance.
Each organisation will nominate a contact in within their organisation (CRC / parent organisation / supply chain) who will collate all the advance payment requests for staff within their unit for each month.
One list from each organisation will be returned to a central point in NPS for processing. Details of the contact for your organisation, and the internal deadlines, will be sent to you from your current organisation. If you are unsure then please talk to your manager or another point of contact within your organisation.
