A new Young Adults Policy Framework
I will be aware of the new Young Adults Policy Framework, shared with me during the Young Adults Awareness week. The framework advises Practitioners in supporting young adults transitioning between youth and adult custody, and between youth offending and adult probation services, in one comprehensive document. Understanding the Policy Framework will help me understand and respond to the particular needs of young Adults, assess and respond to maturity levels at critical points of contact and recognise and consider the impact of intersectionality on engagement.

Case Allocation Process
If I work in a region that the Professional Service Centre has supported (Yorkshire and the Humber, North West, South Central, East Midlands, Greater Manchester) how cases are allocated in those regions will start to change from November 2021. I will be briefed locally on the changes to my area of the allocation process in nDelius and I will be given full information on the area postcodes and nDelius teams. It is expected that I will be allocating to the new process by June 22.
Diversity Information Form
The EIF (Equalities Information Form) will be replaced by the Diversity Information Form (DIF), which will be communicated and made available via EQuiP in December 2021. I will collect equality information at the first point of contact allowing me to recognise the needs of people on probation (PoP) helping to engage with a complex and diverse range of PoPs to inform assessments, sentencing proposals and planning. I will complete this form on all unknown PoPs and ensure that information is checked and updated on those PoPs already known to the Probation Service. The form will be launched at the national court event in November supported by three bite sized learning videos. This form enables us to better understand our population in terms of protected characteristics, which will help to ensure that the services we commission locally better meet the needs of our PoPs.
New Case Allocation Probation Instructions
I should now be, working to the Case Allocation Probation Instruction. Updated following unification to include allocation of cases to former CRC and NPS teams, this guidance details who I can allocate to and how. In December 2021 nDelius team structures were upgraded to reflect the new PDU structure within my region. However, until my region launches mixed caseloads, the former CRC/NPS allocation criteria still applies. I can use the Post CRC Team Identifier to cross reference the new PDU structure on nDelius, to the former CRC team structure and my PDU will inform me as to when we start allocating to mixed caseloads.
Soon, I will be able to allocate unallocated or ‘out of area’ cases to teams within my region.

New MI Dashboard
There will be a new MI dashboard for courts launched in November. This will enable me to have an overview of the reports completed at my court, as well as further details such as the demographics of PoPs who have had a report completed on them in my court.
