Electronic monitoring

From 4th April I am required to collate information from Police for Domestic Abuse, and the local authority for Safeguarding concerns as well as the main occupier of the property to formulate a risk assessment before I can make a curfew recommendation on an Order. This is a change to previous expectations, where these checks were only required on cases where there was evidence to suggest a current risk associated with either domestic abuse and/or safeguarding. The new mandate supersedes all previous guidance that specifically relate to the standard of ‘checks’ required. I will use existing processes to access this information however I may need to request an adjournment to allow time for the information to be returned and the assessment to be made.

I can access more detail on EQuiP using the keyword ‘Mandatory Domestic Abuse and Safeguarding Checks’.
