Electronic Monitoring

From the middle of June, Alcohol Monitoring on License (AML) will be available to me as an intervention to directly support the management of alcohol related risk. I will have had the opportunity to attend a briefing on AML but if I was unable to make time for this, I can find a recording of the sessions on the EQuiP

AML will make it possible to identify when a drinking episode begins, allowing me to discuss the triggers of a drinking event with my PoP. It supports compliance with other licence conditions, acts as a deterrent to reoffending and alcohol consumption. If my PoP knows they were being monitored, they are more likely to be open and honest with me. The briefing sessions cover how the alcohol monitoring technology works, the end-to-end process, eligibility, suitability, recommending the licence conditions, tagging installation options, FAQs and how to manage an AM case.
